TransDimension Certifies High Speed USB

Irvine-based Transdimension and semiconductor maker SMSC announced last week that the two companies have completed high speed USB compliance testing between the company's respective products. TransDimension's USB controller and SMSC's physical layer transceivers have been certified with each other. SMSC's ULPI transceivers implement a new USB specifications that significantly reduces existing USB pin count for components. The reduced pin count is designed to help allow USB technology to become smaller without needing to include complex analog technology in their ICs.
