Userplane Links Into Google OpenSocial

Santa Monica-based Userplane, which provides web-based applications to developers, said today that it will support Google's new OpenSocial API. Google's new API is a set of common programming interfaces which allows social networking web sites to provide a standard way of accessing information about social network members. Userplane said that it will allow developers of OpenSocial applications to access its web chat, instant messaging, and other tools from within their applications. Userplane's tools are used by web site developers to add functionality to their web sites; the firm is a subsidiary of AOL.
