    Vitesse Shows Crosspoint Switch


    Camarillo-based Vitesse Semiconductor said today that it is making a new crosspoint switch available. The new chip is used by hardware manufacturers to design multi-gigabit data transmission systems and backplanes. The VSC3304 provides 8.5 Gbps in a 4x4 crosspoint switch. The component is used in such industries as high speed networking and storage networking to connect devices.
