Warner Releases Videos In Hybrid DVD Format

Burbank-based Warner Home Video plans to shipping titles using a new hybrid HD DVD and DVD format, the firm said Tuesday. Warner said that it will release such titles as Rumor Has It, GoodFellas, Swordfish, and Training Day in the format in May. The hybrid format puts the new, HD-DVD format on one side of a disk, and the current, DVD-format on the other. The studio said that the hybrid format will allow their customers to play the titles on both DVD and HD DVD players. Warner has been shipping HD DVD titles since earlier this month, and also said it will be releasing additional titles in May.
