Xirrus Optimized Voice Over Wi-Fi Support
Westlake Village-based Xirrus announced this morning that it is adding Voice-over-Wi-Fi enhancements to its wireless LAN arrays. Xirrus said that it has added support for SpectraLink Voice Priority mechanisms, fine grained control over traffic classification, and prioritization of voice and data in Wi-Fi networks. Xirrus also said that it has added Communique, a service privder in the voice and data solutions area to its partner program. Xirrus develops a wireless LAN switch that includings 16 integrated access points in a single device, making it easier for system administrators to deploy and maintain wireless Wi-Fi networks. The company's hardware supports 802.11a and 802.11 b/g. Xirrus was founded by Dirk Gates, founder of Xircom.
