Xirrus Powers Gillette Stadium
Thousand Oaks-based Xirrus, the developer of high performance wireless access points, reported today that it has deployed its products in Gillette Stadium, the home of the New England Patriots. According to Xirrus, its wireless network will serve premium seating areas, as part of the Gillette Stadium Putnam Club. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Xirrus develops switched, high density wireless access points which combine multiple access points into a single piece of hardware, and handle much denser Wi-Fi access and bandwidth than standard hardware. The firm's products have become popular with high density users such as schools, conference centers, and other public locations.
