Slingshot Aerospace Extends Sensor Network
El Segundo, California- and Austin, Texas-based satellite tracking system developer Slingshot Aerospace says it has extended its sensor network, and now has more than 200 sensors across 20 sites tracking low earth orbit (LEO) objects in space. The company's optical sensors are used to help determine where satellites and space junk might be orbiting the earth, in order to help avoid collisions with those orbiting objects. The company says it plans to deploy more than 80 new optical sensors in 2023.
