Stratolaunch Details New Test Vehicle

Mojave-based Stratolaunch has debuts a new test vehicle, the Talon-A (TA-0), which it says will be used to test and validate the release system on its Roc vehicle. According to Stratolaunch, the new Talon-A test vehicle will initially not be powered in flight, but future iterations will be designed to carry payloads at speeds above Mach-5. Stratolaunch recently shifted its focus to providing a hypersonic vehicle testbed; the company had originally be started by now deceased Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen as part of the billionaire race to space.
