Advanced Photonix To Close California Facilities

Camarillo-based Advanced Photonix, a manufacturer of opto-electronic components, said yesterday that it will close its California semiconductor micro-fabrications operations and consolidate the operations in its Ann Arbor facility. The firm said that as a result of the move, the company's corporate offices will also be moved to Michigan, although it said it will continue to perform packaging and assembly here. Advanced Photonix said that the move will be complete within the next 12 to 14 months, and will result in a $1.1M tax credit from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. MEDC is a organization that targets firms for relocation into Michigan.
