Aptitude Gets $54M From HHS For Molecular Diagnostics

Santa Barbara-based Aptitude announced last week that it has received an award for up to $53.7M from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), for its efforts to develop and validate at-home COVID and COVID/Flu tests. The government grant is part of a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services department, the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response. The company said $19.6M of the funding will go twards developing and validating the tests, and $34.1M will go to develop additional tests for other infectious diseases.
