    Axiom Microdevices Releases Shipment Numbers

Irvine-based Axiom Microdevice announced Thursday that the firm has shipped more than 10 million units of its quad-band GPRS CMOS power amplifier to handset manufacturers in 2007. The chips are a critical part used in cellular phones. Axiom did not disclose what the financial impact of the shipments were. Axiom is venture backed by Tallwood Venture Capital, U.S. Venture Partners, Anthem Venture Partners, and VentureTech Alliance; the firm's technology stems from research from the California Institute of Technology.
