bp Plans EV Fast Charging Hub At LAX

bp--one of the world's largest oil and gas companies--said it is planning to launch a new, electric vehicle (EV) charging station near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), as part of its efforts to shift towards renewables. According to bp pulse, bp's electric vehicle charging business, it is planning to launch a network of EV fast-charging hubs for ride-hail fleets, based near airports and other high-demand U.S. locations. The first will be in LAX, being built in collaboration with Hertz, and partially funded by a grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC). bp said the CEC is providing it with a $2M grant to support the effort, which will be located at one of Hertz's sites near LAX.
