Breach Joins Web Security Project
Breach Security, a Carlsbad-based firm that develops web application security software, said this week that it has joined the Web Application Security Consortium's new Distributed Open Proxy Honeypot Project. The project uses "honeypots," an Internet security technique that uses servers which are deliberately left open for attack by hackers and viruses. Breach said it has been leading the project since January. According to Breach, the largest attacks observed so far in the honeypot included banner ad/click through fraud, and spam activity.
