CalAmp Acquires Skybility
Oxnard-based CalAmp said yesterday that it has purchased Carlsbad-based Skybility, a developer of embedded cellular transceivers. Skybility's products are used for remote asset tracking and telemetry using GSM and AMPS cellular networks. The companies said that Skybility's customers include DEWALT, Aircept by AirIQ, InterTrak, and SupplyNet. The deal is worth $4.9M in cash and earn out payments of $2 to $4M on specific financial targets. Skybility had revenues of approximately $9M during calendar 2004.
