| "XML - Learn the Next Software Paradigm" LA ACM. Which software technology will dominate is not clear for operating systems, middleware, or languages. However every player of significance is backing XML. Microsoft and IBM , two eight hundred pound gorillas, are pushing a set of standards called Web Services.
