"Generating Revenues In Non-Strategic Markets" SDSIC. Companies generally own IP that has applications beyond or outside of their target market. Revenues can be generated through licensing in non-strategic markets. Issues related to licensing software IP in non-strategic markets will be discussed, including identifying assets outside of the company’s core business, evaluating the value in the marketplace of such assets in view of available competing technologies, identifying target licensees, and maximizing the value of such assets to potential licensees through further research and development or aggressive patent filing strategies. Partnering, sales, and other divestiture strategies (e.g., donation of IP) will also be discussed. See http://www.sdsic.org |
