Camino Pharma Gets $1.97M SBIR

San Diego-based Camino Pharma, which is developing biotechnology focused on cancer and brain disorders, says it has received a $1.97M Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant. The company said the grant was awarded by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. The company said the grant will fund a collaborative effort between Camino Pharma, LLC, Sanford Burnham Prebys and Wake Forest University School of Medicine to validate positive allosteric modulators (PAMs) of metabotropic glutamate receptor 2 (mGlu2) for the treatment of alcohol use disorder (AUD).
