Costa Mesa-based Ceradyne announced this morning that it has completed its acquisition of SemEquip, inc. The deal was worth $25M in cash, plus up to $100M in earn out dependent on SemEquip revenues. SemEquip is a developer of cluster ion implantation equipment, used for the semiconductor industry in the manufacturing of logic and memory chips. The firm's equipment is used in ion implantation, an early step in the silicon wafer manufacturing process. The acquisition of SemEquip was originally announced in July.
