Citadel Gets $12M To Take Down Drone Threats

San Diego-based Citadel Defense Company, which develops systems to neutralize the threat of drones to the US military, critical infrastructure, and other potential targets, said this morning that it has raised $12M in a Series A funding round. The funding was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Citadel, led by CEO and co-founder Daniel Magy, says its technology works by scanning the RF spectrum for drone control signals and first-person-view (FPV) downlinks, and allowing operators to defeat Wi-Fi, radio, and FPV control of those drones. Lightspeed's investment in Citadel was led by John Vrionis and Larsen Jensen. Citadel's co-founders are Daniel Magy, Joseph Makol and Dr. Henrik Borgstrom. More information »
