Los Angeles-based CrownPeak, a developer of software-as-a-service for web content management, is jumping into the URL shortening craze, with its own URL shortener. URL shorteners, such as Bit.ly, take very long URLs and translate them into very short URLs, making it easier to send those links to other people. According to CrownPeak, its URL shortener -- at Cpeak.us is designed specifically for digital agencies and online marketers using its CMS tools. Crownpeak said authors and editors using its CrownPeak CMS tool can have the CMS auto-generate shortened URLs on their web content. Crownpeak said it will offer web analytics and traffic information on the shortened URLs for the customers, and that the shortened URL service is being made available for no extra licensing fee to its clients.
