Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies, a developer of embedded IP communications and VoIP software, said today that it is linking into an effort to push Google Android as a platform for embedded IP and voice-over-IP. The firm said it has joined the Open Embedded Software Foundation (OESF), which helps further adoption of Google's Android platform for use in applications beyond mobile phones. The group includes such firms as ARM, KDDI, Japan Laboratories, Alpine Electronics, and Fujitsu Software.
