Demand Media Claims Billions Of Video Views
Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the Internet publishing and content effort run by Richard Rosenblatt, reported today that the firm has seen more than one billion video streams across its network of sites and branded YouTube channels. The firm said that it now hosts more than 175,000 videos, generated from its network of social publishing sites. The growth in video streams is a direct result of the firm's acquisition of Expert Village in 2007, a site which was focused on user-created, how-to videos. Demand Media's stable of sites include eHow.com, LIVESTRONG.COM, GolfLink.com, Cracked.com, Trails.com and GreenCar.com.
