Desktone Acquired By VMware

Desktone, the developer of virtual desktop software which had been founded by Los Angeles entrepreneur Eric Pulier, has been acquired by VMware. VMware announced the acquisition yesterday, but did not disclose financial details of the acquisition. Desktone's software is used to deliver Windows-based desktops to virtual desktops and other devices. Pulier founded Desktone back in 2006; he also is founder and Chairman of LA's SOA Software. Desktone was headquartered in Lexington, Mass, and was venture backed by Citrix, Highland Capital, SoftBank Capital, and Tangee International.
