Divergent Technologies Scores $230M Funding

Los Angeles-based Divergent Technologies, which is developing AI- and 3D printing-based manufacturing technology, says it has raised $230M in a Series D funding round. The company said the funding was led by a $100M investment from Hexagon AB, and also included un-named existing institutional and family office investors. The company said the funds will help the company scale-up across automotive, aerospace, and defense production. Divergent says it uses "in-house developed AI-driven generative design software" which is says can "computationally engineer structures, novel materials and additive manufacturing to materialize structures". The startup is led by founder and CEO Kevin Czinger.
