    DivX Loses Greenhall From Board

San Diego-based DivX said Thursday afternoon that Jordan Greenhall has resigned from the firm's board of directors. No reason for the resignation of Greenhall, who was the founder of DivX, was given. According to DivX, the firm's baord of directors will discuss the vacancy and appointment of a new Chairman at its next meeting. Grenhall had headed Stage6, a DivX spinoff which allows users to upload and view user-generated video. In conjunction with the resignation, DivX said that it expects to take additional time to consider alternatives related to the Stage6 service; in July, DivX had spun out Stage6 as an independent firm and said that the expenses of running Stage6 had been impacting its operating income, and would require substantial additional funding to grow.
