San Diego-based renewable energy developer EDF Renewable Energy said Thursday that it has acquired a biogas project located in Colorado. EDF Renewable Energy said it has agreed to acquire the Heartland Biogas Project, a 20 megawatt anaerobic digester and renewable natural gas facility located near LaSalle, Colorado. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The project converts organic feedstock and dairy cow manure into natural gas, which is being supplied to the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMD). EDF Renewable Energy develops and owns a portfolio of renewable energy projects.
