Elon Musk Tells Tesla Employees To Work In The Texas Office, Or Quit

Elon Musk, who is the CEO of Tesla in addition to his post at Hawthorne, California-based SpaceX, has ordered Tesla employees to spend a minimum of 40 hours in the office per week, or quit. According to emails leaked from Tesla, Musk said that if employees do not show up at its offices for at least 40 hours a week, "we will assume you have resigned." The move comes 6 months after Tesla moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas, and might be an indication of a reluctance of employees in Silicon Valley to uproot their lives and move to Texas. Musk also moved Los Angeles-based Boring Company to Texas, as well, and it's unclear how many of those employees and executives are also working remotely. Musk has not yet moved SpaceX out of Hawthorne.
