Fulcrum Ships SPI-4.2 Switch Chip
Calabasas-bsaed Fulcrum Microsystems (www.fulcrummicro.com) announced that the company's six-port System Packet Interface 4 Phase 2 (SPI-4.2) switch chip, the PivotPoint FM1010, is now generally available. The new chip is designed for interconnecting devices such as transceivers, network processors, co-processors, ASICs, and FPGAs in the high performance networking and storage arenas. The company is shipping a hardware development kit which includes the chip on a modular reference board, along with software, a design guide, and electronic files for integrating the component into board designs.
