Verari Ships 8-Way AMD Opteron Server
San Diego-based Verari Systems launched a new system based on AMD's 8-Way Opteron processor today. The new Octet 8-Way AMD Opteron Processor-Based SMP Server supports up to eight AMD Opteron 800 Series processors, 64GB of memory, and eight SATA hard drives. The company is targeting high performance applications such as electronic design automation (EDA) with the server. Verari focused on developing high performance rackmount and blade server systems.
