Canoga Park-based Topanga Technologies, the venture backed provider of solid state lighting products, said Friday that it has launched a new plasma light source product Friday. The company said the new solid state lighting product is aimed at street, area, architectural, and industrial lighting applications. The firm said the new products are aimed at replacing 750 to 1000 watt HID sources, and save 40 to 50 percent in energy. The firm's 400 watt APL400 has 22,000 lumen output, and its APL250 has 11,000 lumen output. Topanga Technologies is venture backed by Khosla Ventures.
