Google Chops Employees, Impact In LA Unclear

Google joined the list of big tech companies laying off staff on Friday, saying that it is eliminating approximately 12,000 people from the company. The company--which has significant operations in Los Angeles--did not say how many people would be impacted in the Los Angeles area. Google blamed "a different economic reality" from the past two years, when the company said it saw "dramatic growth."
