Google Continues To Lead Web Searches

Nielsen/NetRatings released its latest Internet search traffic numbers yesterday, saying that Google continues to lead in search share for February. Google received 48.5 percent of all searches on the Internet in February, with Yahoo next in line with 22.5 percent. Third place search engine MSN search slipped for the month, with 10.7 percent of all searches. The rankings are in line with January results. Total number of searches increased to 5.3 billion in February, which the firm attributed to an increased number of searches per person in the image search and shopping search categories. Google dominated the image search category with 71.9 percent of all searches.
