    Hulu.com Goes Live

Los Angeles-based online video service Hulu.com, which is a joint venture of NBC Universal and News Corp, said today that it has publicly launched the firm's service for streaming TV shows, movies, and other video content. The service--which is backed by $100M in private equity from Providence Equity Partners--includes content from Fox, NBC Universal, MGM, Sony, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, the NBA and NHL, and many others. Free, commercial-supported content on the site includes full length feature films, including such films as Ice Age; Me, Myself & Irene; The Big Lebowski, and others. Also on the site are full length episodes from over 250 TV series, such as The Simpsons, The Office, and clips from Saturday Night Live.
