San Diego-based ID Analytics, a developer of software used by financial institutions and other companies to detect identity fraud, said this morning that it has launched a new, public service called MyIDScore.com, to help consumers figure out their risk for identity fraud. According to ID Analytics, the new service helps consumers assess their risk of identity fraud, and figure out if other people are using their name, Social Security number, address, or phone number. The firm said that consumers who use the new service will get a statistical score from the company on their risk for identity fraud; the firm is also looking to provide the consumer service as a branded offering for companies. ID Analytics is venture backed by Trinity Ventures, Canaan Partners, Mission Ventures, and Investor Growth Capital.
