Inktank Gets Ceph Win In Hawaii

Los Angeles-based open source storage software developer Inktank, which is behind the Ceph open source storage software, has deployed its products in a win in Hawaii. The company said that the College of Education at the University of Hawaii at Manoa has deployed its Ceph storage software, in conjunction with OpenStack. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed. Inktank said the deal came as part of an effort with OpenStck systems integrator Mirantis. Ceph is an open source, scalable storage product which uses commodity hardware to supply storage to Linux and other operating sytsems.
