Interlink Electronics Gets $175K In SBIR Award For Wildfire Smoke Sensors

Irvine-based Interlink Electronics says it has received a $175,000, SBIR award from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), to go towards development of advanced, wildfire smoke sensors. The company said the effort is aimed at the development of low-cost, low-power sensor nodes for monitoring air quality impacted by wildfire smoke. Interlink Electronics said that the number and severity of wildfires have been increasing substantially as a result of climate change.
