    Ixia Acquires Communication Machinery


    Calabasas-based Ixia said this morning that it has acquired Santa Barbara-based Communication Machinery Corporation, a maker of wireless test products and tools. Communications Machinery makes 802.11a/b/g network equipment test tools targeted at WLAN engineering organization, service deployment teams, and equipment manufacturers. Ixia said that as part of the acquisition, it was introducing a new line of wireless testing tools, IxWLAN. The firm said that the acquisition was part of its strategy of integrating companies with proven technology that extend its capabilities. Terms were not disclosed.
