KittyCAD Raises $5M

Los Angeles-based KittyCAD, a developer of hardware design software, says it has raised $5M in a seed financing round, which was led by Venrex Partners. The funding also included USC's Viterbi School of Engineering, Gaingels, Kelvin Beachum, Matt Terrell, Undeterred Capital, Liquid 2, Tom Preston-Werner's Family Office, Madrona Venture Group, Bernie Lagrange, and Nat Friedman. According to the company, it has built a "geometry engine" and tools which allows the company and others to develop open source applications. The company's co-founder and Executive Chairman is Jordan Noone, who was CTO and co-founder of Relativity Space.
