    Linspire Trumpets Embedded Google Search Technology


    San Diego-based Linspire said this morning that it has launched a new suite of Internet tools which embed Google searching in its web browser and email reader. The new feature automatically allows users to click on a word in any web or email, and do a Google search through a pop up menu. The company's "Hot Words" feature is based on the open source "Gecko" layout engine used in the Firefox and Mozilla Web browsers. The company said that it would be contribute the technology back into the Mozilla open source code base.
