McDonald's Testing Beyond Meat Burger In Canada

McDonald's will be testing a new burger made from the plant-based burgers from El Segundo-based Beyond Meat, at restaurants in Canada, the fast food giant said this morning. According to McDonald's, the new "P.L.T." will be made with Beyond Meat, and will be available in select restaurants in Canada beginning on September 30th. McDonald's said the 12-week test of the P.L.T.--for "Plant, Lettuce, Tomato"--will be available in 28 restaurants in Southwestern Ontario. McDonald's said the test will be used to gain feedback from its customers, with the P.L.T. costing $6.49 CAD plus tax. Beyond Meat already has a deal with Burger King featuring Beyond Meat's burgers across its locations; competitor Impossible Foods just launched its first fast food test, with KFC, earlier this month.
