Meta Acquires LA's Within, Maker Of AR Workout App Supernatural

Los Angeles-based Within--the maker of the virtual reality workout app Supernatural-- has been acquired by Meta, the company most recently known as Facebook. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced. Supernatural's virtual reality fitness app runs on the Oculus Quest, and was offered up via subscription. The app uses video avatars of instructors and motion tracking for its fitness workouts. Supernatural is led by CEO Chris Milk. Milk and the rest of Supernatural's team will be joining Meta. Supernatural's virtual reality workouts are also connected to the Apple Watch to track users' heart rate.
