PivX Names VP
Newport Beach-based PivX Solutions (www.pivx.com) has named Mark Remington as VP of Operations. Remington was most recently CEO of Threat Focus, a security alert company. PivX provides security research, consulting, and has recently launched a suite of software security tools.

Paciolan Signs Bowling Green
Irvine-based Paciolan (www.paciolan.com) said that it has partnered with Bowling Green State University to deploy its ticketing services for athletics, music, and theatre events. Bowling Green will use Paciolan's ticketing technology to provide an in-house, online ticketing service for its fans.

Demarc Lands Banking Customer
Carpinteria-based Demarc Security (www.demarc.com) announced that its Sentarus thread management software has been selected by Lake City Bank to protect its networks. Lake City Bank is based in Indiana. Demarc's security software provides network-based intrusion detection and prevention, service monitoring, event correlation, and more.

ZyXEL Adds SOHO Intrusion Detection Appliance
Anaheim-based ZyXEL Communications (www.ux.zyxel.com) announced earlier this week a new intrusion detection and prevention network security appliance targeted at the small office/home office market. The company's ZyWALL IDP 10 provides layer 7 protection against security threats, and provides application-level pattern matching and identification of possible security threats. Apex Digital Expands Product Lineup
Ontario-based Apex Digital (www.apexdigitalinc.com) announced that it is launching a new family of portable entertainment devices. The company's new E2Go line will include portable media players, DVD Players, Cameras, and more. The company said that the first product in its new product line is a portable media player with support for video, music, and still images. The company currently markets DVD players and other electronics.

Jamdat, Nickelodeon Team On Wireless Games
Los Angeles-based JAMDAT Mobile (www.jamdat.com) said today that it has reached an agreement with children's programming provider Nickelodeon to create mobile phone games based on Dora the Explorer and Blues Clues. JAMDAT will develop and distribute games based on the two popoular preschool characters. Nickelodeon said that adding wireless games will allow parents to play along with children. JAMDAT develops and markets games for mobile phones.
