Vizional Releases RFID Solution
El Segundo-based Vizional Technologies has released an RFID-based supply chain application designed for managing trailers, tractors, trucks, and labor. The company said that its Vizional Yard RFID solution will help companies improve asset utilization, manage inventory, and shorten order cycle times. The solution is targeted at distributino facilities, trucking terminals, and yard operations. Ixia Adds Enhanced Wireless and Security Testing
Calabasas-based Ixia said this morning that it has upgraded its IxChariot software line to add new enhanced wireless and security testing ability. The upgraded software adds Voice Over IP testing features, embedded payload script capability, and support for large WLAN testing. The new software also adds simulation of peer-to-peer network traffic such as eDonkey and Bittorrent client applications. Ixia provides testing software and hardware for network equipment manufacturers.

DivX Signs Plextor, Frey
San Diego-based DivXNetworks has signed Plextor and Frey Technologies as its latest adopters of its DivX video compression format. Plextor, which provides digital media recording equipment, and Frey Technologies, a personal video recording and home media center company, will offer DivX format hardware capture. Plextor's ConvertX PVR is bundled with Frey Technologies SageTV software to allow consumers to capture broadcast, cable, or satellite TV onto a computer hard drive. PerfectData, Sona Mobile Complete Merger
Simi Valley-based PerfectData and wireless solution provider Sona Mobile said this morning that the companies have reached a definitive merger agreement. Sona Mobile shareholders will own 80 to 85% of the company. PerfectData previously sold magnetic media cleaning products, but sold off its operating divisions last year. Homestore Back In Black
Westlake Village-based Homestore released its earnings yesterday, and has finally turned a quarterly profit after two years of losses. The company reported it earned $6.0M on revenues of $54.3M in Q4, although the company still lost $7.9M on 2004 earnings of $216.9M. The Q4 gain included gains from two software businesses the company sold during the quarter. The company had $59.9M in cash on hand at the end of Q4.
