Omnilux Appoints CEOPasadena-based Omnilux is announcing today that it has appointed Suresh Nihalani as CEO of the company. Nihalani was most recently founder of Nevis Networks and was the founder of Accelerated Networks. Omnilux is developing technology for optical wireless broadband, and is backed and fully owned by Pasadena-based Idealab. ViewSonic Intros New FPDs For Commercial ApplicationsWalnut-based monitor manufacturer ViewSonic said this morning that it has introduced two new flat panel, large-screen displays targeted specifically at digital signage, videoconferencing, and other commercial applications. Disney Launches Online Playhouse Disney ServiceNorth Hollywood-based Disney Online announced this morning that it is launching a new premium subscription service based on its popular Playhouse Disney programs. The division of Walt Disney Internet Group said that it has begun development of a Playhouse Disney Preschool Time Online, a broadband service targeted at preschool age children.
