Sensoria Appoints VP
San Diego-based Sensoria said this week that it has named David A. Oberholzer to VP of Sales. Oberholzer was most recently VP Strategic Sales with BelAir Networks. He has also served at Nortel. Sensoria develops mobile mesh networking solutions for the Department of Defense. The company's solutions are used for military and homeland security applications. Sensoria is backed by Hummer Winblad Partners.

Qualstor Appoints Sales VP
Simi Valley-based Qualstar has added Robert C. King as VP of Sales. The maker of tape storage drives was most recently VP of Sales for E2O Communications. The company said that he will direct the sales of the company's automated tape libraries. Qualstar also said that Tim Studebaker, the companies VP of Advanced Development, has left the company to pursue other interests.

D2 Gets Win With MIPS For VoIP Software
Santa Barbara-based D2 Technologies has scored a win with MIPS Technologies to develop Voice over IP technology for the embedded RISC processor maker. D2 has signed a development agreement to implement VoIP algorithms for the MIPS32 24KE cores. IPS said that the agreement allows it to build significantly on its existing VoIP software ecosystem. Sabeus Engages European Marketing Group
Calabasas-based Sabeus Photonics has signed a distributor for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. The company said that it has signed UR Group as an exclusive distributor in the area to market its optical components and subsystems. Sabeus develops in-fiber filters for the optical marketing, focusing on LAN, WAN, and Long Haul telecommunications systems.

CarsDirect Becomes Internet Brands
Los Angeles-based CarsDirect yesterday said that it has changed its name to Internet Brands, as the company has started expanding its services into other, non-automotive related areas. The company said that the name change reflects the company’s aggressive expansion into other big ticket areas sucha s home mortgage lending.
