Conexant Adds Exec
Newport Beach-based Conexant has added Christian Sherp as a new Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Scherp was most recently VP and GM of wireless/wireline Communications Group for Infineon Technologies North America. Scherp had previously served at Siemens AG. Conexant is a provider of semiconductors for the communications, networking, and home networking market.

Evite Rolls Out Mac OS X Tiger Widget
Los Angeles-based Evite, a IAC/InterActiveCorp company, said this morning that it has rolled out a dashboard widget for Mac OS X Tiger that allows users to view their Evite invitations, upcoming events, event reminders, as well as a local bar and restaurant search engine. The Mac OS X dashboard widget allows users to access weather forecasts, stock quotes, and other live information. Evite provides a social event planning calendar service, and was acquired in 2001 by Ticketmaster.

SOA Software Rolls Upgrade
Santa Monica-based SOA Software has upgraded its Service Manager, Web Services management product. The company said that its version 3 release provides Web Services message handling, used for managing and monitoring XML transactions. The company said that the new version adds dashboard functionality, service endpoint discovery, auto-management, and real-time charting of transactions. Insider Pages Reports 100,000 Reviews
In a sign of the growing popularity of local search focused web sites, Pasadena-based Insider Pages this morning reported that it now has over 100,000 reviews of local businesses in its database. The local search service allows friends to share reviews of local services and businesses, providing a Yellow Pages-like listing of local companies and associated customer reviews. The company recently rolled out national review service after a year-long beta test of the service in the Los Angeles area. (More info...)

Movielink, LodgeNet Partner on Movie Downloads
Los Angeles-based Movielink and interactive movie provider LodgeNet Entertainment have partnered to provide laptop-based movie downloads to LodgeNet interactive TV and high speed Internet access systems. The companies said that LodgeNet will provide an on-site, integrated digital content server based on the MovieLink service allowing for high speed download through the company's hotel access sytems. ValueClick Raises Guidance
Westlake Village-based ValueClick said this morning that it has reaffirmed its second quarter guidance, and raised its guidance for the year. ValueClick said that it now expects 2Q results of $52 to $53M in revenue and EBITDA of $12 to $13M. For the fiscal 2005 year, the company is now saying that it believes it will have $222 to $226M in revenue and EBITDA of $58-61M, not including contributions from its recent Web Marketing Holdings and E-Babylon acquisitions. Energy Innovations Raises $16.5M
Pasadena-based Energy Innovations said this morning that it has raised $16.5M in venture funding from Mohr Davidow Ventures. Energy Innovations is developing low-cost, rooftop photovoltaic solar concentrator systems. Idealab, the founding investor, also participated.
