Demarc Appoints Sales and Marketing VP
Carpinteria-based Demarc Security announced that it has appointed William Wall as VP of Sales and Marketing. Wall was previously senior director of worldwide sales for Fortress Technologies, and also served at Certiport. Demarc develops security software.

Leap Adds VP
San Diego-based Leap Wireless announced that it has appointed Dave Truzinski as VP and Chief Information Officer. Truzinski will manage the company's information technology operations. Truzinski was CIo and VP International IT and director of international IT at Cingular Wireless/AT&T Wireless. Truzinski has also served at ClickCollect.

Akonix Extend IM Security To Google
San Diego-based Akonix has rolled out support for Google's instant messaging service. Google rolled out its new instant messaging service, Google Talk, Wednesday. Akonix enables auditing, blocking, and archiving of instant messaging traffic on enterprise corporate networks. The company protects instant messaging systems against security risks and also enforces content policy. The company's product is delivered as an IM appliance.

Fastclick Board Approves Purchase by ValueClick
Westlake Village-based ValueClick and Santa Barbara-based ValueClick said yesterday that ValueClick has commenced the exchange offer for all outstanding shares of Fastclick common stock. The companies announced earlier this month that Valueclick had agreed to acquire Fastclick in a stock exchange agreement. Fastclick shareholders will receive 0.7928 shares of ValueClick stock for each share of Fastclick stock. Fastclick is an operator of an Internet advertising network.
