Akonix Extend IM Security To GoogleSan Diego-based Akonix has rolled out support for Google's instant messaging service. Google rolled out its new instant messaging service, Google Talk, Wednesday. Akonix enables auditing, blocking, and archiving of instant messaging traffic on enterprise corporate networks. The company protects instant messaging systems against security risks and also enforces content policy. The company's product is delivered as an IM appliance.

Fastclick Board Approves Purchase by ValueClickWestlake Village-based ValueClick and Santa Barbara-based ValueClick said yesterday that ValueClick has commenced the exchange offer for all outstanding shares of Fastclick common stock. The companies announced earlier this month that Valueclick had agreed to acquire Fastclick in a stock exchange agreement. Fastclick shareholders will receive 0.7928 shares of ValueClick stock for each share of Fastclick stock. Fastclick is an operator of an Internet advertising network.
