Boost Takes Snapshots
Irvine-based wireless lifestyle firm Boost Mobile said this morning that it is adding the ability to upload and order photo prints from its mobile service. The company said that its Boost Snaps service allows mobile subscribers to upload up to 500MB of photos directly from their Boost mobile phone or other digital camera or computer, and share them as an online photo album. SpaceX Scrubs Launch
El Segundo-based SpaceX has delayed the launch of its commercial launch service debut over the weekend, as liquid oxygen problems and computer glitches forced a scrub of its original launch date. The firm said that a liquid oxygen valve had been incorrectly set to vent. SpaceX has designed a two stage, liquid oxygen powered rocket designed for delivering payloads into space. Analyst Finds Microsoft Selling Xbox 360 At Loss
El Segundo-based iSuppli, a research firm focused on the electronics and semiconductor industry, has conducted a teardown of the new Microsoft Xbox 360 game controller and has found that the bill of materials (BOM) cost for the new device actually exceeds the retail price of the unit. According to iSuppli, the total BOM cost for the Xbox 360 Premium reaches $525, well above the retail price of $399. Online Retailers See Increase In Holiday Shopping
Online analysis firm comScore Networks is reporting that non-travel related online spending during the first 25 days of the holiday season, including Friday, November 25th (Black Friday) increased 24 percent over last year, reaching $6.96B. The sales were an increase over $5.60B in online sales last year, a very strong performance for online sellers.
