Interview with Anthony Batt, Co-Founder, Buzznet
My interview this morning is with Anthony Batt, who is a co-founder of Buzznet (www.buzznet.com), an online music, video, and photo sharing web site based in Los Angeles. I talked with Anthony to get a better idea of where the company fits into the increasingly crowded community/sharing web sites, and how the company is trying to get above the noise in that space. Yahoo Targets Hispanic Market
Yahoo is targeting the Hispanic market, with a new deal announced today with Telemundo and NBC Universal Television Group. Yahoo said that the three companies will combine their U.S. Hispanic Internet properties to create Yahoo! Telemundo. The site will be a combination of Yahoo's existing Spanish language site and Telemundo's online offering. The two firms will merge their staff and share advertising revenue in the site. Netifice, MegaPath Complete Merger
Costa Mesa-based Netifice Communications and Pleasanton-based MegaPath Networks have completed a merger, saying today that the two provider of Virtual Private Networks will operate under the name MegaPath and be headquartered in Costa Mesa. The firms report that they will now have a combined, $125M annual revenue. The two companies had initially announced the deal in February. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. MegaPath said that the combined company will be headed by Craig Young.

THQ Buys Stuntman From Atari, Buys Development Firm
Agoura Hills-based THQ has purchased Stuntman, a game franchise from Atari, and will buy Paradigm Entertainment, which is developing games for next generation systems for the franchise. Terms were not disclosed, however Atari said that the move was part of a $13M divestiture of non-core assets, which also included its TimeShift properties. THQ said that its acquisition to acquire Paradigm Entertainment is expected to close within the coming weeks, subject to successful due diligence in the game (More info...)

Boingo Roams Around South Korea
Santa Monica-based Boingo Wireless has added 14,000 new hot spots in South Korea, after inking a deal with KT, a wireless service provider in the country. Boingo said that the deal includes Seoul's Incheon International Airport and Gimpo Airport, along with restaurants, cafes, hotels, bus terminals, and other locations in South Korea. Reunion.com, Yahoo Hook Up
Los Angeles-based Reunion.com has hooked up with Yahoo's popular Yahoo! Personals site, saying today that the two companies are in a strategic partnership. The two companies will work together to integrate marketing efforts. Reunion.com members focused on dating will be directed to Yahoo's personals site. Yahoo's personals site will also provide content and tips to Reunion.com members. Buy.com Rolls Its Own HD TV
Aliso Viejo-based online retailer Buy.com is launching a new, high definition broadband television series to promote its product lineup. Buy.com announced today that it will launch BuyTV, a weekly, HD shopping series available via broadband for download by end users. Greenlight Wireless Launches Advertising Program
Irvine-based Greenlight Wireless, the developer of Skweezer, a service that reformats web pages to fit mobile platforms, announced this week a new, advertising program for publishers. The advertising platform, Advertizer, is keyword-based and delivers ads via XML, HTML, and RSS. Greenlight's Skweezer service optimizes content to fit mobile platforms and handhelds. The company's keyword advertising program was previously known as the Skweezer Ad Marketplace.
