Oversee.net Eyes Acquisition Targets
Los Angeles-based Oversee.net is looking towards some acquisitions, saying yesterday that it has established a Corporate Development Group focused on identifying, negotiating, and implementing new business opportunities and potential acquisitions. The company, which operates a wide variety of web sites and businesses in the online advertising space. Oversee also hired a group of corporate development professionals to head up the new group.

Amp'd Hits Best Buy
Los Angeles-based Amp'd Mobile, an MVNO focused on the youth market, has inked a new distribution deal with Best Buy. The firm said that Best Buy will begin selling its mobile phone products and services this summer. Amp'd is developing a cell phone service focused on younger consumer, and has deals with MTV and others to provide content for its service.

iQstor Certifies Alacritech
Newbury Park-based iQstor, a provider of storage systems for the SMB market, has certified its iSCSI storage platforms with iSCSI cards from Alacritech. The company said yesterday that Alacritech's iSCSI Accelerators have been certified with its iQ1250 iSCSI Storage Platform. iQstor's iSCSI platform is based on SATA technology and is targeted at small and mid-sized companies.

Quest Software Expands Board
Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software has expanded its board of directors. The company has added H. John Dirks to the board, and also appointed him to its special committee investigating its stock option grant practices and related issues. Dirks was most recently a National Office Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers until his retirement in 2005. Dirks was an audit partner at PwC between 1979 through 1989. Zetera Hires VP of Engineering
Irvine-based Zetera has hired a new Vice President of Engineering. The company has added Dr. Tomlinson Rauscher to the position. Rauscher has served at Xerox, Digi-Data, nStor, and Xyratex. Zetera developing storage protocols that run of IP, which the company is targeting at low cost IP-based storage systems.
